About

Anushka Kanoongo

I'm an Analytics & Insights professional in healthcare, based in Chicago, where I turn complex clinical, quality, and operational data into automation, dashboards, and insights that drive strategic and operational impact. I hold an MS in Health Informatics & Bioinformatics (4.0 GPA) and an MBA in Hospital Administration.

The Journey

My path blends healthcare, business, and data. I began with an MBA in Hospital Administration in India, then moved to the U.S. to earn an MS in Health Informatics & Bioinformatics (4.0 GPA) and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Project Management at the University of Missouri. As a Graduate Research Assistant, I managed data operations for 75 classes across 20+ schools statewide, supporting grant review and program evaluation.

During a Data Management & Operations co-op at The Resource Group in St. Louis, I built a Tableau dashboard delivering evidence-based estimated delivery times to improve backorder management, and supported SQL projects to standardize data and streamline processes.

At Vizient in Chicago, I joined as a Healthcare Analytics Fellow — converting MicroStrategy dashboards to Power BI, building a Tableau readmissions dashboard, and prototyping API-driven analytics — while delivering 15+ member requests that turned clinical data into performance insights.

As an Analytics & Insights Associate, I now focus on automation and quality: I engineered a SAS + Excel validation pipeline that cut manual review time by 40%, built Python benchmarking for 100% data alignment, and created a custom GPT to accelerate how my team shares knowledge and leads client engagements.

What Drives Me

  1. Insight over output. A dashboard only matters if it changes a decision — I start from the question stakeholders need answered and work back to the data.
  2. Automate the tedious. From validation pipelines to benchmarking scripts to a custom GPT, I build automation that frees people for higher-value work.
  3. Accuracy you can trust. In healthcare, wrong numbers have real consequences — validation, benchmarking, and data quality are non-negotiable.
